Biological vs Chronological Age

I want to share something personal with you today. Recently, my lab results showed a biological age of 33.1. That’s 15.1 years younger than my actual age.

I want to share something personal with you today.

Recently, my lab results showed a biological age of 33.1. That’s 15.1 years younger than my actual age.

When I first saw it, I smiled. Not because the number itself matters, but because it reflected something deeper.

It showed what can happen when you take a targeted and consistent approach to your health.

Biological age is different from chronological age. Chronological age is simply the number of years you’ve been alive. Biological age looks at how your body is functioning at a cellular and metabolic level. It reflects things like inflammation, nutrient status, hormone balance, stress load, and how well your systems are working together.

What this result represented for me was not perfection or strict routines. It was the outcome of listening to my body, addressing imbalances early, and supporting my health in a personalized way over time.

This is at the heart of functional medicine.

Rather than guessing or taking a one-size-fits-all approach, functional medicine uses data, history, and deeper testing to understand what your body specifically needs. From there, we create targeted support that is realistic, sustainable, and aligned with your lifestyle.

Consistency is where the magic happens.

Not extreme changes.

Not short-term fixes.

But small, intentional actions repeated over time.

When you support your body in the right way, it often responds by functioning more efficiently. Energy improves. Inflammation settles. Hormones begin to regulate. And lab results can start to reflect that internal shift.

This is not about chasing numbers or trying to reverse time. It is about supporting your body so it can do what it is designed to do, with greater ease and resilience.

If you’ve been feeling tired, inflamed, foggy, or simply not quite yourself, this could be a sign that your body is asking for a more targeted approach.

Functional medicine offers that clarity.

If you’re ready to understand your health more deeply and take a personalized, root-cause approach, I’d love to support you.
